The principal objective of the Spanish Confederation of Directors and Executives (CEDE), founded by the Spanish Association of Directors (AED) and the Spanish Association of Finance Executives (AEEF), is to bring together the various directors’ associations in order to provide them with a single representation that is appropriate to the important function that they perform in the socio-economic field, as well as to stimulate their activities and to co-ordinate actions to the advantage of the confederated bodies and of all their individual members.

Since it was founded in 1997, the Confederation has included other associations of directors belonging to various sectors and geographical areas. At the present time CEDE brings together forty organisations and a total of 73,000 directors, and is thus becoming significantly representative, and this will continue in the future with the incorporation of new bodies.

The statutes of the CEDE provide for its participation in Spanish public life, making reports addressed to public bodies, referring to matters of economic, financial and social interest. It is also available as a consultative body for the public authorities and parliamentary groups. In addition, it will organise its own activities of social interest and will enhance those of its confederated bodies.

All of this must contribute to the projection of the image of Spanish directors and executives - both in Spain and in Europe and America, principally -, to the promotion of professional ethical actions, and to the ongoing training of the directors, thus making it easier to achieve some of the goals that the Confederation has set itself.

In as much as the most important associations of directors in Spain are members of CEDE, the Confederation forms a majority representative of Spanish professional directors as a class, acquiring the role of interlocutor, with its own voice, in dealing with the principal socio-economic questions.
